Pontiac Fiero Auxiliary Gauge Plate
Before you begin: park on a flat surface and set the parking brake. Turn the ignition off. If your gauges are powered, disconnect the negative (–) battery cable before continuing.
Tools & supplies
- T-15 Torx screwdriver or bit
- Plastic trim removal tool
- Small socket set or 7mm nut driver
- Flashlight or work light
Parts included
- 1× Tear 20 Customs auxiliary gauge plate
- T-15 Torx bit
- Gauges, wiring and trim panels are not included.
- Remove the factory plate
- Remove the 4 T-15 Torx screws holding the trim plate in place.
- Remove the lens and unplug the gauges.
- Transfer the gauges
- From the rear, loosen the retaining brackets, nuts or clips holding each gauge to the old plate.
- Carefully slide each gauge out while keeping wiring and hoses connected.
- Align the gauges with the cutouts in your Tear 20 Customs plate.
- Secure the gauges using the factory brackets, nuts or clips.
- Confirm all gauges are straight and flush before proceeding.
- Install the new plate
- Position the plate with gauges back into the dash or console.
- Secure using the factory T-15 Torx screws.
- Reinstall any trim bezel or finishing panel.
- Test and finalize
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition on and verify all gauges power up and function correctly.
- Check for secure fitment and no rattles, then wipe the plate clean with a soft cloth.
Tip. Label your wires before disconnecting — a piece of tape and a marker saves a lot of headaches. Take photos of your wiring before disconnecting anything. Don’t force gauges into the cutouts; verify orientation before securing. If the bezels don’t seat flush, check for debris behind the plate.
